East Midlands China Delegation Visited ZETTC

In the afternoon of March 21th, 2007, Mr. Jason Feehily, Head of East Midlands - China Business Bureau, along with his other eight colleagues, paid a visit to Zhejiang China-Europe Technology Transfer and Human Resource Center (ZETTC). Dr. Carol Zhao and Mr. Mingguo Shao met them on behalf of ZETTC.



East Midlands is the fourth largest district in England. Its major industries are health care, transportation, environment protection and food & drink. This district pays great attention in cooperation with China in terms of technology innovation.

Nottingham University from this district is one of the top 10 universities in U.K., and it ranked the 4th in terms of industry-university research cooperation. The university already established its Chinese campus in Ningbo, Zhejiang. Before Chinese New Year, Nottingham University carried out an investigation for East Midlands - China for the topic of technology innovation cooperation in China, and tried to find the potential areas. The visit of this delegation was to discuss the mechanism of technology transfer and technology innovation.



During the meeting, firstly the England side introduced East Midlands District and Nottingham University, and reported their investigation findings. We introduced our center and our service in international cooperation followingly. Next, both sides discussed the areas and means of cooperation, and shared experience in terms of technology transfer and technology incubation in university science park.



At the end of this meeting, both sides hope mutual cooperation can be established soon, and then can jointly carry out project cooperation. Close contact with cooperation issues will be followed.
